1. They are used in the manufacture of amplifiers, oscillators, transmitters, radio and television receivers etc.

2. Capacitors are used to generate and detect high frequency electromagnetic oscillations.

3. Capacitors are also used for storing electrical energy for long durations.

4. They are used in the ignition system of automobile engines for eliminating sparking.
