Many of you may be pursuing B.Tech. Computer Sciences and Engineering commonly known as B.Tech. CSE. Many of you may be preparing for engineering entrance examination to pursue degree in B.Tech. CSE from a reputed institution. One thing is common that every one is doing same to make a career out of it. Let us discuss today, about the various career options after completing the engineering in CSE.

I) Job: Private and Government

Private Companies start visiting campus during final year of degree. These companies may be product based or consultancy based or service based etc. The job profile may range from:

• a) Software development b) Mobile app development c) Game development as gaming is in trend now a days. d) Data Scientist, e) Computer Architect, f) Cloud based work etc. As there are so many types of profiles. In India, salary package may vary 4 lac to 1 crore or may be more. It depends upon knowledge, reputation of campus etc.

Government Jobs: As BTech CSE means that you are graduate now. In India, every Graduate is eligible for most of the government sector competitions like IAS, Banking exam, Railway exams, CDS etc. Also if a student clear, GATE exam then he or she may be eligible for many PSUs jobs. In government jobs, the salary package is minimum Rs. 50 K to 60 K per month with other perks for class A officer.

II) Start a Start Up

If you want to start a business, then with team work and with business idea, one can start a start up. Remember many companies like Flipkart, Amazon, OYO, OLA, Zomato, NYKAA, Lenskart were start ups and now big business houses. Thus, with proper blue print, road map, you can start your start up and become employer instead of employee.

III) Pursue higher studies

One of the options may be to pursue higher studies. If in India, go for GATE exam and do M.Tech. and after that PhD to pursue career in Research or teaching in college or University. If you want to do masters from a foreign university then go for GRE exam to do MS. Similarly, to MBA from India, then appear and clear CAT exam and if from foreign then GMAT.

Thus, these are various career options after B.Tech. CSE.
